  • Mid Atlantic Engineering and Technical Services Uses Seaward For Diving Services on USNS McLean

    Mid Atlantic Engineering and Technical Services has awarded Seaward Marine Services, LLC a firm fixed Purchase Order to provide Diving Services on the USNS William McLean (T-AKE-12).

    The scope of work included propeller shaft wear down readings, main propeller and hub propeller cleaning and polishing, and inspection of the Hull, Bow Thruster, Bilge Keels, Rudder, Sea Chests, Gratings, Doppler Speed Log, Echo Depth Sounder, and Cathodic Protection System.  Diving Operations were carried out June 14-19 by Seaward's Dive boat, Coastal Pride.
     


     

  • Repairs to Battleship Wisconsin Continue

    Seaward Marine Services Mobile Diving Unit 3 completed an underwater inspection, cleaning, and repair of the ICCP system on the Battleship Wisconsin.  This work was completed during one of two routine hull inspections under the Battleship Wisconsin Maintenance Contract with the City of Norfolk. Repairs to areas of exposed bare metal on the anode dielectric shields were completed using Hycote 461 underwater fairing compound. Diving operations were carried out from May 29 – June 1, 2018.

     

     

  • Military Sealift Command Uses Seaward For Cleaning on USNS Comfort

    Military Sealift Command has awarded Seaward Marine Services, LLC a firm fixed Purchase Order to provide cleaning of the USNS Comfort (T-AH-20).

    The scope of work include cleaning and inspecting the sea chests, transducers, anodes, reference cells, hull penetrations and propeller.  The work item also included inspection of anti-fouling paint test bands with Naval Surface Warfare in attendance. Diving Operations were carried out May 21-24 by Seaward Mobile 4.

     

     

  • Epsilon Systems Solutions Uses Seaward For Cleaning and Inspection on USNS Laramie

    Epsilon Systems Solutions has awarded Seaward Marine Services, LLC a firm fixed Purchase Order to provide Diving Services on the USNS Laramie (T-AO203).

    The scope of work included cleaning propellers, sea chest suctions and overboard lines, and perform a visual Inspection of the hull to include all underwater surface areas; propellers, rudders, bow thruster, depth sounder, speed log, sea chest gratings, condition of anti-fouling paint, hull plating, sacrificial zinc anodes, ICCP system, and appendages.  Diving Operations were carried out May 21-24 by Seaward Mobile 3.

     

     

  • Colonnas Uses Seaward For Cleaning and Lamp Ray Hull Survey on USNS Grasp

    Colonna’s Shipyard has awarded Seaward Marine Services, LLC Norfolk, VA a firm fixed Purchase Order to provide a waterborne underwater hull cleaning and survey on USNS Grasp (T ARS-51). Period of performance was April 2-6, 2018 at Joint Forces Base Little Creek in Norfolk, VA. 
     


    The underwater hull survey was completed using the Lamp Ray Remote Operated Survey Vehicle. Seaward's Lamp Ray® ROV is a portable underwater robotic hull scanner integrated with a topside data acquisition system and controller. It performs a comprehensive hull material condition survey using sensors for ultrasonic testing, dry film thickness, and cathodic potential. 

    All work was completed on time and within the budget estimate.
